Use the current CMS materials
Hospice Outcomes and Patient Evaluation (HOPE) is the assessment framework introduced in October 2025. CMS continues to issue guidance, technical corrections, and reporting information.
Build a reliable review routine
Use the CMS announcements page to locate the current manual, item sets, technical specifications, and iQIES information. Confirm document versions before revising staff education or assessment workflows.
Reading public quality information
Check the reporting period and measure definitions when using Care Compare. Public data can support a conversation with a provider, but does not answer every question about individual care needs.
